Yellowstone's Lamar Canyon wolf pack is one of the most recognized, heavily observed wild packs of wolves in the world. Residing in Yellowstone's sparsely vegetated Lamar Valley, the pack's movements and intimate behaviors can often be viewed with spotting scopes throughout the year, thrilling Yellowstone visitors who get a rare glimpse into the life of a wild wolf pack. The pack has seen many ups and downs over the years but have managed to persist in some form or the other. This image shows the Lamar Canyons in their prime, in January of 2012, with the famed alpha pair the '06 female and 755m leading the way.
